Job Title: Manager, Global Digital Finance
A little bit about our team:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join Warner Chappell Music's Global Finance team as the Manager of Global Digital Finance.
Your role:
In this role, you will play a crucial role in analyzing digital deals and modeling scenarios specific to our business operations and engagement with digital service providers. As the Manager of Global Digital Finance, you will be responsible for evaluating revenue scenarios related to digital rights management across different territories and markets. Your expertise in financial analysis and modeling will be instrumental in supporting global teams and helping them analyze and model deals and contract terms with digital service providers.
Here you'll get to:
• Deal Analysis and Modeling: Analyze and evaluate Ex-US deals and contracts with digital service providers, particularly in the context of digital rights management. Develop financial models and scenarios to assess the potential revenue and financial impact of deals. Partner with WCM Digital Licensing team provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on your analyses. Prepare detailed and precise Corporate Board decks for internal approval.
• Digital Data Automation and Dashboard Projects: Project manage and lead priority efforts in the following projects:
• Automation of global digital data collection, and monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting in various reporting and FX scenarios
• Historical ARPU for each of the Major 4 DSPs (Global). Support US efforts plus lead ex-US efforts.
• Global Revenue for each of the Major 4 DSPs, broken down by Paid and Ad-Supported, on a quarterly basis plus expected revenue for the forecasted periods. Goal: Separating ad-supported vs subscription revenue would allow us to better forecast go-forward revenue based on expected ad market environment.
• Historical market share for each of the Major 4 DSPs, broken down by Paid and Ad-Supported and Developed vs Emerging Markets. Goal: Tracking market share, particularly differences in market share between emerging and developed markets helps to identify where we need to focus our A&R efforts and forecast projected revenue.
• Digital Performance by DSP analysis to break out major DPSs in monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting. Goal: Separate Digital Performance by DSP to compare to Digital Mechanical and understand growth profile of Digital Performance.
• Revenue Scenario Analysis: Assess and model revenue scenarios related to digital rights management across various territories and markets. Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in digital distribution platforms to ensure accurate forecasting and analysis. Working closely with Digital Rights, Societies, and Licensing teams across Warner Chappell Music.
• Global Digital Revenue by DSP consolidation: Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial consolidation of digital revenue by DSP by territory. Research variances, summarize key findings and ensure accuracy, precision, and timeliness. Provide ad hoc reporting to WCM Digital Licensing and Finance teams.
• Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest developments, trends, and regulations in the digital music industry, particularly related to digital rights management and engagements with digital service providers. Leverage your industry knowledge to drive informed decision-making and support the company's strategic initiatives. Stay apprised of new technology and consumer trends. Liaise and work closely with WMG's digital and data/research teams.
We'd love it if you also had:
• Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, modeling, and deal evaluation, preferably within the music or entertainment industry. Previous experience in digital rights management and engagements with digital service providers is highly desirable.
• Financial Expertise: Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial modeling, revenue forecasting, and deal analysis. Experience in analyzing complex financial scenarios and providing actionable insights to support decision-making. Proficiency in financial software and tools such as data pull and Excel.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the digital music industry, including digital rights management, streaming platforms, and digital service providers. Familiarity with the music publishing sector is highly advantageous.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex financial data and model different scenarios. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis.
• Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial concepts and analysis to non-financial stakeholders. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide financial support to global teams.
• Leadership and Strategic Thinking: Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team. Proven ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and make sound financial recommendations to support the company's goals and growth.
Effective October 1st, this position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.
