SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Media Department is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of advertising budgets and the purchase of media for all domestic theatrical filmed releases. In developing these plans, the department deals directly with advertising agencies and all broadcast media, digital media and digital video, national print, radio, outdoor and Experiential media. The department also works very closely with the Home Entertainment, Digital and International media teams to ensure continuity of planning through the entire lifecycle of a film.

Under general direction, the Sr. Media Analyst assists in the development of media campaigns and prepares and monitors budgets for all films. The Sr. Media Analyst may also perform special assignments and related tasks as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Media Managers in supervising the execution of media plans.

Monitors media expenditures and updates all budgets on a weekly basis. Provides explanation of weekly budget changes to Media Managers.

Provides direction and helps foster the growth of the media analyst.
Oversees media analyst's weekly reports.

Provides Finance Department with weekly spending updates.

Evaluates, approves and gives direction to the Agency on out-of-home proposals and tracks out-of-home inventory by film.

Reviews cable and Spanish Language buys and provides feedback to media managers, as well as stays up to date on programs and specials.

Updates Canadian expenditures based on quarterly exchange rates and maintains annual Canadian spending by film.

Review Digital media plans/recommendations and provide feedback to media managers Communicates information on all Radio/Multicultural/Outdoor buys to internal WB departments.

Assists with creating and maintaining PowerPoint presentations for management and filmmakers.

Assists with ongoing competitive research and special film projects and explores areas for development.

Helps brainstorm and develop unique stunts to support film releases.

Attends internal film meetings and represents the media team's efforts as necessary.

Assists in the facilitation of communication of key plan details to the Home Entertainment and Digital media team

Provides weekly updates to internal WB departments regarding media deadlines and flighting details.

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Work Experience

Approximately 2+ years of advertising and media experience required, with at least one year being directly related to the Motion Picture industry. Integrated media planning (Linear/Digital Media) experience is a plus.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Psychology, English, or related field required.

Knowledge/Skills

Must be able to develop and monitor budgets and expenditures.

Must be able to analyze the effectiveness of media advertising.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook programs.

Must be able to communicate with all levels of management, etc. on media related issues.

Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate ideas clearly and effectively.

Knowledge of marketing and traditional media, and understands how and why they are utilized in developing strategic campaigns. Knowledge of digital media is plus.

Knowledge of marketing & media sufficient to develop media plans for promotion of Warner Bros. films strongly preferred.
