The Job

The manager will lead other people leaders and individual contributors within Creative Services, Image+Sound. While based in ATL, this leader will have a working knowledge of our other bureaus' workflows and will ensure cross-functionality between all teams in Creative Services. They will manage editorial workflows and relationships with partners and ensure skill development for the staff. This person will make hiring decisions innovate within their team and ensure the team performs efficiently. Collaboration with production partners is a key aspect of this role.

Partners include, but are not limited to, Production Services, DC and NY-based show teams, HLN, CNNi, CNN Digital, Engineering, and other support groups.

The Daily
• Production Oversight: Generate solutions around daily production and its challenges. Work across bureaus to ensure adequate resources are in place. Interact with Engineering and other support teams when technical issues arise.
• Partner Interaction: Regular feedback sessions with various production partners. Consistent discussions around changing workflow needs and changes in technology.
• Project Management and Analytics: Actively participate in departmental and organizational initiatives. Track and manage the work produced by the staff. Weekly reports to management.
• Personnel and Performance Management: Conduct regular staff meetings. Promote and manage employee development. Actively participate in recruiting and hiring processes.

The Essentials
• 5+ years in a news, sports, or other production-related field.
• 1-2 years leadership experience in current role, on projects, etc.
• Proven experience in mentoring/coaching others
• Detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proven communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The Nice to Haves
• 1-2 years supervisory experience in a production-related field.
• Demonstrated team player with focus on success of company and staff.
• Writing skills surrounding feedback, staff communication, and reviews.
