The Job

Join the Wonder Woman team and help bring an iconic DC Super Hero to life!

Monolith Productions, the award-winning AAA studio who brought you F.E.A.R. and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, seeks a Lead Combat Designer to be responsible for significant contributions to game design, with particular focus on the design, standards, implementation, and polish of Combat and player focused gameplay experiences. You will work with the design leadership to create compelling prototype designs that help define or support the gameplay structure. You will then guide a team to implement these designs using proprietary and 3rd party tools.

The Daily
• Work with the team and studio leadership to identify Gameplay and Combat goals and propose solutions that live within the technical constraints of our proprietary technology. Ensure combat feel is meeting all goals while iterating throughout the development cycle.
• Mentor the designers working on combat, focused on workflow improvements and implementation details, providing regular feedback on both their creative work and workflow.
• Work with the Production, Design Leads, and the Studio Leadership groups to deconstruct the combat design process, to establish measurable development phases with specified goals
• Create and maintain living documentation detailing the combat design process and standards that keeps pace with the project's progress and accurately conveys all necessary information to dependent teams.

The Essentials
• Experience working on at least 2 console/PC titles as a designer or equivalent, with at least one of those being in the 3rd person action 3rd person action/adventure genre preferred.

Knowledge/Skills
• Familiarity with a variety of editors and scripting languages.
• Comprehensive knowledge of game design principles, the computer gaming industry, and its products.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with programmers, artists, and other designers.
• Professional experience working with level design on a large-scale project.
• Effectively work under the pressure of competing demands and short timelines.
• Passion for games and game development.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
