The Job
A Newsource Content Producer leverages the assets of the worldwide networks of CNN and its partners to produce air ready national and regional news content to more than 1,100 CNN affiliates around the globe.

The Daily
The duties involved in the Newsource distribution process include editorial decision making, editing, writing, copy editing and programming live channels.
The person who fills this position must have excellent news judgment, time management skills and attention to detail.
They must also have an excellent attitude and be able to provide world class customer service.
The Content Producer must also be resourceful and able to think broadly and innovatively to find new ways to maximize resources among CNN and affiliate partners.
Strong candidates also need to be proficient in using social media to promote Newsource content and provide customer service.
The position is essential to sustain the overall quality and usability of our services for Newsource affiliates.
The position plays the central role in disseminating and delivering content to more than 900 affiliates, ensuring a superior, turnkey product for our affiliate customers.

It is crucial that the department be able to maintain the level of service our customers have grown to expect.

The workflow process and delivery of material (via both BitCentral and the seven digital channels) to those 900 affiliates is based on having sufficient, structured staff to carry out the many steps involved in distributing material from CNN to affiliate stations.

Additionally, this position is the senior-most, non-management position at Newsource and serves as shift leader in the absence of management.

Persons in this role direct coverage, as well as provide editorial guidance and technical assistance at all times.

The Essentials
3-5 years' experience as an assignment editor, news producer or writer, preferred.
Experience in local news would be very helpful as well as experience with social media.
