The editorial department within WarnerMedia Studios works closely with the sound design and design/visual effects departments to create compelling, creative, and dynamic pieces including promotional campaigns, programming elements, and shows. The artists create pieces for broadcast, streaming, and social content as well as internal and corporate presentations.

The Job

The Associate Editor position is a three-year program where selected candidates grow as editors through development of skilled editing techniques, relationship building with network partners, mentoring junior staff, and supporting senior groups of editors. The Associate Editor needs to have previous experience with the fundamentals of video editing, such as preparing media for edit sessions, pulling selects, creating clip reels, and preparing projects for delivery and archive. The core focus of this job is to strengthen creative and technical skills, including asset and project management, while gaining essential experience to further develop understanding of network branding and workflows.

This particular role will be in support of the Turner Classic Movies team, and is designed for craftspeople who have a keen eye and a passion for storytelling, content creation, post-production, and a driving desire to succeed in the media industry.

The Daily

As a TCM Associate Editor, you will::
• Prepare projects for sessions (i.e., gathering, organizing, and importing media)
• Cut studio, promotional, or social content for TCM
• Prepare TCM postings/interstitials for air
• Pull selects and create clip reels based on requests from the edit staff and partners
• Version spots with various graphics using After Effects toolkits (end pages, end tags, etc.) and versioned audio mixes
• Prepare projects for audio, finishing, delivery, and archive
• QC and deliver media to specific drop locations for broadcast and digital

The Essentials
• Demo reel submitted with resume that showcases your editing skills
• Thorough understanding of the post-production process and session organization/management
• Previous experience with editing in a commercial or broadcast environment
• Experience in Adobe Premiere and After Effects
• Knowledge and great appreciation of the TCM brand, classic films, and the art of cinema
• Excellent customer service skills, strong communicator – both written and verbal
• High attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills
• Collaborative and open to new ideas and workflows
• Ability to recognize opportunities to contribute to the team
• Motivation and readiness to take on new challenges and bring creative ideas to the table
• Willingness to reach out to others to learn and incorporate feedback from producers, peers, and managers
• Ability to quickly adapt and pivot based on project deadlines and partners' requests
• This position is based in Atlanta, GA. Relocation is not required, but it is recommended
• Once the 3-year contract concludes, there is no guarantee of continued employment
