Warner Bros. is seeking an accomplished attorney executive to lead Global Employment Legal and People Relations functions across the enterprise. This role will provide strategic legal counsel to WB executives, the Chief People & Culture Officer, and the People & Culture senior management team, driving workforce programs, enterprise projects, and complex personnel strategies. The position will oversee a geographically dispersed team of employment attorneys supporting global productions, corporate functions, and will manage the People Relations function responsible for non-production employee investigations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive global employment law experience, demonstrated success in high-profile investigations, and proven ability to manage a large international team while aligning employment legal guidance with WB's culture and guiding principles.
Your Role Accountabilities
Executive & Strategic Advisory
• Serve as key legal advisor to the Chief People & Culture Officer, People & Culture SMT, and senior executive management on workforce initiatives, strategic programs, and complex personnel matters.
• Advise and negotiate senior executive employment, separation, and transition agreements.
• Provide counsel on enterprise-level projects impacting the workforce, including organizational change, policy development, and compliance with global labor and employment laws.
Global Employment Legal Leadership
• Lead and manage a global team of 30 attorneys, ensuring effective communication, knowledge sharing, and cross-collaboration.
• Drive consistency in employment legal counseling, balancing practical business needs with WB's cultural values and guiding principles.
• Oversee legal guidance for WB's in-house productions, including WBTV, WB Theatrical/Productions (Film), HBO/Max, Unscripted, Pictures Animation, TV Animation, WB Studio Operations, WBITVP (EMEA), WBTVP UK, and Hanna-Barbera.
• Provide legal support for third-party productions and partnerships.
Investigations & People Relations
• Oversee workplace investigations globally, including high-profile and talent-related matters.
• Partner with the Head of People Relations to guide the investigation strategy for non-production employee matters, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and productive collaboration between employment attorneys and the People & Culture team.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies in the handling of employee relations issues.
Employment Disputes & Compliance
• Manage employment-related litigation, arbitrations, and administrative complaints across jurisdictions.
• Provide proactive legal risk assessments and training to business and HR leaders to mitigate employment-related risks.
• Monitor global employment law trends and developments, updating policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
• JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
• 15+ years of legal experience with significant focus on global labor and employment law, preferably in media, entertainment, or technology sectors.
• Proven experience leading large, multi-jurisdictional legal teams and managing high-profile, complex investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to advise C-suite executives and senior leadership on employment-related strategy and risk.
• Experience with employment aspects of production environments, including union and talent-related matters.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully resolving complex employment agreements and disputes.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive and confidential matters.
