Subtitler (Bahasa Malaysia) - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Your New Role

Ensure subtitle technical quality comply with brand standards, for the Channels and OTT services across SEA region, including both simulcast and standard turnaround subtitle deliverables in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.

Collaborate closely with Internal and External parties to ensure timely delivery of subtitles and availability in line with expectations of Channel requirements.

Your Role Accountabilities

1.SUBTITLE QUALITY CHECK 80%
• Perform both spot check and/or 100% technical quality check on Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles for HBO Asia content
• Ensure subtitles are in compliance with Channels requirement
• Provide editorial QC input based on language knowledge

2.SUBTITLE FIXES 5%
• Preform fixes when required for GE content subtitles

3.SUBTITLE CREATION 5%
• Create Bahasa Malaysia subtitles for Social Media, and Promotional Content

4.COMMUNICATIONS 5%
• Collaborate with local Internal Departments for subtitle creation requests
• Manage vendors to ensure timely delivery of subtitles, address and provide detailed feedback on subtitle issues

5.DATA MANAGEMENT 5%
• Ensure up to date Subtitle Technical Specifications
• Update Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia translated metadata in broadcast system

Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in subtitle editorial & technical QC, editing with software i.e. Cavena, Subtitle Edit, Poliscript, IMSC file format
• Broad knowledge and experience in the subtitle technical requirements for broadcast & OTT media
• Ability to manage projects, meeting deadlines and solving logistical problems
• Fluent in both verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Years of experience: At least 3 to 5 years in subtitle technical QC knowledge
• Years of experience: At least 3 to 5 years in Bahasa Malaysia translation skill
• Experience in SE Asian broadcast media
• Bachelor/ Degree holder preferred
• Knowledge of a core Asian language e.g. Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog, Burmese, Japanese, Korean and Mongolian
• Communication: Excellent communication skills in managing deliverables with Internal and External parties - Vendors.
• Prioritization: Ability to work to deadlines and multi-task across multiple channels/projects.
• Learning Agility: Ability to quickly master new systems and adapt workflow in a changing environment.
• Creativity: Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve within the available timelines and resources.
• Team Work: Collaborate with internal and external stake-holders to ensure optimum outcomes for all parties.

Additional Information

There may be a need to work non-standard hours from time to time to support operational priorities, such as urgent fast-turnaround content. In such cases, flexible working hours will always be accommodated.
