The Job
WB Interactive Entertainment is a top video games publisher and we continue to expand by adding great people and leveraging one of the best portfolios of brands and intellectual properties in the industry. The Sr. Manager, Business Development, Analysis will work closely with Business Development Executives as well as other WBIE Senior Executives to research and evaluate growth initiatives and propose implementation strategies. Examples of such growth initiatives: 1. Evaluating the impact of refocusing WB Games product investment strategy around core franchises, and proposing organizational/operational solutions to achieve this, 2. Evaluating the market potential of pursuing an integration strategy with metaverses (games as a platform), 2. Structuring a strategic approach to entering the NFT marketplace. In addition, the Sr. Manager will play a key role in organizing, leading working groups to prepare materials for, and hosting Senior Level offsites (including, for example, Franchise Day.)
This position regularly liaises with the business development team, other WBIE Senior executives, Central Product teams and external partners. In tandem with the Sr. VP of Business Development, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for identifying core growth initiatives. In addition, the Sr. Manager will be responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders, creating industry taxonomies, establishing a thesis as to whether and how we should engage and identifying external partners. The Sr. Manager will ultimately be responsible for presenting structured, critical reviews of such growth initiatives to an executive audience (including the President, WB Games) and in cases initiating implementation of strategies.
The video game industry is rapidly growing and changing, with a constant stream of proposed growth initiatives. Robust analysis, as well as consistent high quality framework for evaluation will be core to the future success of WBIE. This is an ideal position for someone who is has a keen mind for structured analysis of complex business challenges and a passion for the entertainment industry. A passion for video games and/or the video game industry is a bonus.
The ideal candidate will have experience in strategy an operations consulting and/or experience a business development or business strategy role in the video games, technology and/or entertainment industries.
The Daily
Manage Structured evaluation of WBIE growth initiatives*, including:
• Creating analytical templates to assess opportunities and operational recommendations.
• Managing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Identifying external research sources.
• Identifying and interacting with potential partners or other industry participants.
*Examples of growth initiatives include: Refocusing product development strategy around core franchises, evaluating strategies entering NFT games market, reviewing the market potential of metaverse integrations. with companies at the forefront of those trends.
Identifying and sourcing partners for WBIE entry into growth initiative. Partnership discussions and, where appropriate, deal negotiations.
Bringing organization and leadership to implementation of strategic recommendations. Partner closely with CPM, Studio Leads, Brand Marketing as well as other teams in the Warner Bros. Discovery family.
Prepping materials and presenting recommendations to Senior Staff
Assisting with the preparation of materials, setting agenda and hosting of Senior offsites (including, for example, Franchise Day)
The Essentials
• 8+ years in strategy consulting or business strategy
• Ability to think critically and synthesize complex/ambiguous scenarios into clear insights driving actionable business decisions
• Project management and analytical leadership experience
• Demonstrated track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
• Growth mindset, embracing challenges with a sincere commitment to achieving positive outcomes for the Games BU overall as well as key internal stakeholders
• Capacity to pivot ongoing deliverables quickly based on vital new information/input
• BA/BS required
• Ability to think critically and synthesize complex/ambiguous scenarios into clear insights driving actionable business decisions
• Strong analytical skills, including ability to perform structured analysis of key initiatives
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders
• Project management and analytical leadership experience
• Demonstrated track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
• Growth mindset, embracing challenges with a sincere commitment to achieving positive outcomes for the Games BU overall as well as key internal stakeholders
• Capacity to pivot ongoing deliverables quickly based on vital new information/input
• Strong emotional intelligence

• Interest in video games (casual or core) and/or video game industry
• Self-starter who can be innovative in searching for answers to challenging questions
