Your New Role...

WB Games San Diego is a remote-first team seeking a UI Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing UI-heavy features for our unannounced debut title built on Unreal 5.

In addition to C++ and Blueprint contributions, you will use a variety of tools to communicate technical designs, architect systems, and playtest and provide feedback on the game. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, UX designers, artists, and our QA team to build a game that could become a leader in AAA free-to-play experiences.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Prototype, implement, and maintain UI for game features using UMG and Slate
• Evaluate feature designs for viability, completeness, time cost, and risk
• Optimize UI performance to ensure quality player experiences
• Author and review technical specifications to discover robust solutions
• Support artists and designers by building tools and improving workflows
• Participate in peer code reviews to learn, teach, and advocate for high standards

Qualifications & Experience...
• Working knowledge of Unreal or other complex game engines
• Experienced in C++ or similar languages with object-oriented fundamentals
• Broad understanding of algorithms, data structures, and UI patterns
• Dependable problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work effectively with artists, designers, engineers and QA analysts
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Contributed to one or more published AAA games preferred
• Experience on a live ops software product preferred
• Familiarity with UMG/Slate workflows and debugging on console/mobile preferred
• Background with client-server networking or backend architectures preferred
• Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related Bachelor's degree preferred

The Legal Bits…
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
