This role will primarily be responsible for overseeing the team's weekend coverage. The Senior producer will monitor the news of the day, making assignments and overseeing scripts and edits. The Senior Producer will coordinate closely with newsgathering teams across the globe to bring in the most compelling content and ensure audience needs are met across all digital platforms. They will make smart editorial decisions quickly to best serve the audience with what's new.
They should also be prepared to oversee content while seamlessly stepping in to support scripting, video editing and publishing as needed. The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced news environment. They are a confident leader, comfortable making assignments and overseeing the work of others. They should be well versed in creating vertical videos, as well as 16x9 content. Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail and creativity are a must, along with an ability to operate effectively within a complex deadline-driven news organization.
This position is anchored around a Saturday and Sunday 6am -2pm shift, with flexibility on weekday scheduling and can be based in NY, Atlanta or DC.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Planning for and covering the news of the day
• Managing production resources to create compelling digital video content
• Generating ideas and assignments to meet audience demands
• Giving feedback on scripts, edits, and headlines
• Experimenting with new formats to reach new consumers
• Coordinating across all CNN teams and platforms.
Qualifications & Experience…
• 8+ years of experience in a national or major media market, with 3 years in digital storytelling
• Experience managing production teams or projects with measurable audience success
• Sharp editorial judgment and a proven track record of covering news in video formats
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Expertise in Adobe Premiere
• Strong writing
• Extensive knowledge of creating video for digital platforms
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Must be able to work holidays, overnights and extended hours as the news cycle and deadlines require

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $87,500.00 - $162,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
