The Job
As a Senior Concept Artist at Monolith, you will help create the foundation for the art team to build engaging characters and immersive worlds. You will collaborate with art directors to gather reference and visualize high level art direction for the game. These images and documentation will inspire and inform production as all artists work towards a common goal.

You are a compositional thinker and have the ability to bring abstract ideas to life and create of images that communicate clear vision that serves to inspire the team. You have an intuitive understanding of game design and development. You are adept at receiving feedback and quickly turning this into iterations that helps the team craft a cohesive vision.

The Daily
• Partner with the art directors to develop the overall vision of the game (Establish tone; define locations, craft emotions)
• Produce sketches and quick iterations (digital or paper);
• Create concepts of characters and environments from reference briefs
• Propose ideas to the art team and discuss possibilities on how to execute
• Adapt your artwork based on feedback from both art and design leads
• Find a balance between creative aspects and technical constraints
• Craft inspirational polished digital paintings to establish look and feel

The Essentials
• 3-6 years of experience as a concept artist on AAA titles
• Realistic style
• Expert knowledge of digital painting
• Understanding of art fundamentals: composition, architecture, lighting, anatomy
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

The Nice to Haves
• Degree in Fine Arts or equivalent diploma in relevant field
• Working knowledge of 3D software a plus
• Comic book and relevant genre knowledge and interest
