Job Description
What You'll do:Reporting to the Director of People Operations, the People Operations Specialist will be directly involved in all areas of Human Resources, and shape what it is like to work at Warner Bros Discovery. You will be involved in all points of the employee experience and support the business on all HR-related matters. You will act as the Ottawa People & Culture (P&C) expert, working with other members of the P&C team to ensure the employees in Ottawa are well supported.
This is a true generalist role, for someone with both strategic and operational HR know-how.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to managers and employees on the entirety of the employment lifecycle including but not limited to:
• Employee relations matters
• Conflict resolution
• Performance management
• Onboarding
• Employee development
• Engagement
• Terminations
• Exercise discretion and judgment in employee relations matters, policy interpretation, workplace investigations and conflict resolution
• Enforce company policies/procedures in accordance with local employment law
• Collaborate with different levels of the organization and outside partners
• Prepare, maintain and update HR records, employee information, and related data in accordance with established procedures
• Work closely with employees and managers to proactively ensure retention, engagement and strong performance
• Oversee the benefits program, and act as the primary liaison with our payroll team
• Create an environment for our culture to thrive
• Oversee the orientation and onboarding program including continuously improving and troubleshooting onboarding strategies and processes
• Participate in employee recognition, wellness, and social initiatives
• Chair the Health and Safety Committee and drive Health and Safety initiatives
Education and Experience:
• Generally requires a College/University degree with a focus in Human Resources
• 5+ years of progressive experience in HR related roles
• Solid understanding of Ontario employment legislation and practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization
• Strong Computer and Office Suite experience
• Self driven and adaptability to multiple changing priorities
• Team player and ability to collaborate with various different teams
