On-Air Coordinator

Job Description

Warner Bros. Discovery NZ is looking for an experienced On-Air Coordinator (Presentation Director) to join the Broadcast Operations team as an On Air Coordinator.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor - Broadcast Operations and based in Auckland, you will support WBD NZ Operations & Engineering. This position involves shift work including Daytime or Overnight shifts and requires someone who has enthusiasm and places an emphasis on quality and customer service.

The Purpose of the role is to check and maintain the Transmission Playout Schedule through the On-Air Presentation Suite as rostered.

Some of the key elements of this position will involve the proficient operation of the Transmission Playout Automation system and all relevant equipment in the Presentation Suite and the fault-free checking and playout of programmes, commercials, promos, and associated material for our Television brands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that all content goes to air fault free:
• Monitoring all channels, overall and individually at agreed intervals
• Monitor 'The Penalty Box' for any issues or adjustments
• Changeover to Alternate Paths when required
• Ensure that late delivered News Updates, Promos and Programmes get to air correctly
• Manual changes to the On Air Playlist as required
• Import playlists from Traffic & Transmission Operations when required

Liaise with various departments any schedule changes or adjustments:
• Follow up on any missing media
• Follow up on any timing adjustments that need to be made
• Accurately enter and follow up on any Discrepancies or Issues into the DIDI system and immediate escalation and communications as required

The proficient operation of the automation and playout systems:
• Proper running of the Automation & Playout system
• Live event playlist manipulation and overall handling of a Live event
• Disaster Recovery if any system fails to keep all channels going

• As requested from Senior Supervisor Broadcast Operations
