• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
• Partner closely with product, design, and editorial to deliver consumer-facing experiences for breaking news, interactive storytelling, and live events.
• Drive technical strategy by contributing to architecture discussions, long-term planning, and ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and performance optimizations.
• Facilitate team ceremonies such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions, while clearing blockers and enabling predictable delivery.
• Contribute technically by reviewing code, providing implementation guidance, and occasionally writing production code.
• Own and improve the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the systems your team builds.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt and operational inefficiencies to improve developer productivity.
• Partner with recruiting to hire, onboard, and grow diverse engineering talent across US- and globally distributed teams.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of direct experience managing and growing software engineers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proven track record of delivering consumer-facing applications at scale using Agile practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), monitoring tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with frontend and backend development.
• Security-first mindset with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
• You're passionate about mentoring engineers and building inclusive, high-performing teams.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, news-driven environment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
• You're collaborative, curious, and driven to create products that inform and inspire CNN's global audience.
Nice to Haves...
• Experience managing globally distributed teams, including remote collaboration.
• Background in real-time systems or content publishing platforms.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $154,700.00 - $287,300.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
