Manager, Credits – Business Affairs

Your New Role

Reporting to VP of Business Affairs/Credits, this new Manager position joins a small Department tasked with managing the credit preparation and approval on a high-volume of Original Programming (HBO and HBO Max original productions, scripted TNETS projects) as well as various deal types such as PSA, licensed projects, acquisitions. Working with a dynamic, collaborative team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, the job encompasses capturing contractual, guild and other show obligations relied on by external production teams, and multiple WBD Divisions-Labor, Legal, Business Affairs, Production, Post, Marketing, Media Relations, Incentives and Finance, to name a few.

Your Role Accountabilities
• Work with VP of BA/Credits, (+ other departments within Warner Bros. Discovery) to capture and confirm all talent obligations on designated projects, ensuring that Contractual Obligations, Guild Requirements (DGA, WGA, SAG/Equity, IA), Global Tax Incentives, Legal Disclaimers, Copyrights and Studio Standards/Protocols are met and adhered to.
• Prepare a detailed show obligations spreadsheet on all in-house projects--any studio-negotiated on-screen/ paid ad/ photo approval/ merchandising/ dubbing/ marketing obligations for talent, relied upon by BA/ Legal/ Media Relations/ Post/ Photo-Creative Services/ Marketing/ Social Media as well as the external producers and post producers; provide Photo Services pre-production breakdown of Photo Approval Obligations and review teasers/press releases.
• Approve episodic credit documents as submitted by shows as First and Primary signer of all show-assigned executives, and support internal Post Department credit workflow. Submit credit drafts for Guild approvals and provide tech support re: our digital credit processes.
• Schedule and run a ''Credit Overview'' Call initiating in-house shows to the Credit Process, discussing guidelines, timelines, templates; includes External Production and Post Teams as well as internal show staff.
• Guide internal Departments-Creative, Production, Post, BA, Legal, Labor, Finance, Media Relations, Tax Incentive Group, Awards-and the shows' filmmakers-through the process for credit approval on designated projects and finalize that approval and delivery.
• Provide guidance and advisement to same departments and external teams on show-specific obligations and standard practices/gives, protocols and guild restrictions.
• Continually work with VP of BA/Credits, heads of HBO Post/BA/Legal regarding changes/ updates to our systems and maintain the ''Credit Bible'' which includes FAQ's and an archive of precedents used by BA and Legal teams for negotiating deals.

Qualifications & Experience
• BA/BS degree with a minimum of 4 years of Entertainment studio experience in either Legal, Business Affairs, Production or Post-Production, Industry Guild; direct Credit experience preferred.
• Familiarity with entertainment law, comprehension of TV Production and Post, acute attention to detail and a proactive, project-driven personality. Professionalism is a must.
• Expert at time-management, working independently and shifting priorities quickly.
• Vital understanding of talent agreements, the role of contractual/guild obligations, production and post-production process and delivery deadlines.

Our team interacts with every department involved in making TV programming, deals directly with showrunners, producers, post producers, guilds, film commissions, vendors, etc. Every show, and day, is unique-and we keep it fun!

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $72,100.00 - $133,900.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
