Director of Photography (Temporary)

Your New Role…
• Director of Photography will be in the field capturing original footage for the FlashDocs team and is working against extremely tight deadlines. The DP will have extensive knowledge of interview set ups, and camera/lighting techniques that properly capture the subject.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• In this role, you will be responsible for directing and instructing crew members for equipment setups.
• You will also be determining the lighting and other requirements on set.
• You will be supervising the camera crew and other technicians while also working with the CNN FlashDocs producers and staff DoP to follow the detailed look-book of each project.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Artistic vision and eye for photography.
• Technical knowledge of cameras: have an in-depth understanding of all motion picture equipment, cameras, lens, monitors and lights. Specifically, well versed in the Sony FX9, FX6, A7Siii.
• Ability to both give and follow instructions.
• Ensuring proper lighting requirements on the set.
• Contributes editorially to the team with which they work. They should possess a deep understanding of the stories on which they are assigned.
• Strong communication and ability to work across different partners. Work directly with our producers and staff directors of photography to follow the set looks for each project that they are assigned to. Have strong communication skills and ability to work across different partners.
