Job Description
The Director of Digital Fulfillment leads the Digital Fulfillment/Encoding Services team within Digital Content Services. This individual will manage the team responsible for creating and delivering media across the globe on behalf of internal Warner Bros. Discovery business units and clients that include:
• Marketing
• Media Relations
• Content Acquisitions
• Media Servicing
• Post Delivery
• Programming
• West Coast Production
• Business Affairs
• HBO Sports
• Home Entertainment
• International Program Sales

As technologies and deliverables evolve, our workflows and processes do too. This individual will be a subject matter expert in both current and emerging media technologies to support the growth of Digital Fulfillment by developing and operationalizing new tools and workflows. Their technical expertise will also be leveraged on an ad-hoc basis across the larger org to support Digital Media Operations, Digital Content Services, and Distribution Technology & Operations-led initiatives. This position reports to the VP of Digital Content Services. Team members are positioned in New York, Atlanta, and Sterling.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Leads the Digital Fulfillment team across multiple locations. Fosters a cohesive team environment within both the team and the department.
• Supports and advises VP of Media Operations on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives
• Serves as product owner for the north star media request and processing tool, MORPh. Provides client support & trainings as needed. Defines enhancements with the dev team and leads UAT efforts.
• Supports legacy digital fulfillment workflows (ex: Mediaflex, Distribute) and collaborates with dev teams to develop migration plans into the north star system
• Oversees the sourcing, processing, storage, and delivery of content for promotional and programming purposes across Warner Bros. Discovery worldwide
• Works closely with the internal operations team to understand the technical requirements around current workflows and client needs
• Collaborates with the Engineering and Media Supply Chain teams to define and operationalize new workflows around media sourcing, processing, and delivery
• Manages 3rd party partner/vendor relationships to meet evolving requirements, including but not limited to content security, transcoding, and media playback solutions
• Develops, socializes, and enforces best practices for use of transcoding and digital delivery tools
• Proactively looks for operational efficiency to be gained by streamlining workflows and engages operational area leaders to actualize
• Creates and maintains archive of documentation for new workflows and special projects
• Oversees large projects and new workflows from a technical perspective
• Troubleshoots and tracks technical issues through to resolution, taking corrective action to mitigate potential and ongoing issues
• Tracks industry advancements and trends in technology, providing trainings and support to staff around next-gen formats (e.g., UHD, HDR, object-based audio)
• Provides leadership and guidance to the team. Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency. Directs the development, socialization and maintenance of methods and procedures to ensure full productivity.
• Superior problem-solving skills required. Able to determine the best path forward with the tools and timelines available. Promotes a culture where strong attention to detail is the norm and all defects and incidents receive respectful consideration including root cause analysis and process improvements where applicable.
• Partners with other team leaders within WBD to drive strategic initiatives.
• Works closely with Engineering and other technical teams to understand and integrate new and changing technologies and workflows. Advocates for the needs of Digital Content Services and their clients within an evolving supply chain.
• Builds and maintains relationships with Brand and Tech leaders to stay current on new workflows, technologies and client needs throughout the company. Leads and executes on projects to keep the department in line with these changes.
• Keeps Senior Leadership apprised of all major changes, achievements, and concerns as relates to current projects and overall team performance. Leverages metrics gathering and reporting to identify systemic concerns and illustrate operational strengths.
Requirements:
• College Degree BA/BS in relevant field preferred.
• A motivated self-starter who expresses a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Superior time management/multi-tasking/leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Aptitude to make autonomous decisions and use sound judgment consistently and effectively.
• Strong working knowledge of broadcast video fundamentals, transcoding, asset movement, storage, naming conventions, digital delivery technologies, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work well with others in a team driven atmosphere.
• Must be a proactive and independent thinker who is able to attend to small details while keeping a clear view of the big picture.
