The digital editor is responsible for commissioning, creating, and strategizing original and curated content across Food Network, HGTV and other entertainment websites and platforms to enhance our brands' distinct digital presence and voice, thereby growing audience, engagement and monetization.
New Role Accountabilities...
Content Creation
o Ideate, write, edit, and publish articles, galleries, recipes and more by staff and freelancers
o Package content to align with brand voice, and optimize for SEO and performance
o Commission original photography and curate stock images to accompany articles
o Anticipate and react to industry and technological developments (like AI-related best practices) while prioritizing best-in-class customer experiences
o Pitch and pioneer new ways of storytelling and trend-driven content angles
Content Management
o Recruit, manage, and assign projects to freelance writers
o Manage a robust editorial calendar and publishing schedule.
o Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology
Engagement, Analytics, and Strategy
o Track and analyze performance metrics to measure success of articles and galleries
o Use insights, and trends, to continually adjust overall strategy and increase site traffic, customer experience and engagement
o Experiment with and innovate on content topics, range, and forms
Collaboration
o Ideate with Food Network Test Kitchen and HGTV experts to develop and package expert-driven content.
o Work with brand teams to develop relevant, timely and engaging content to build fandoms and drive revenue.
o Work with social media and video teams to develop digital-first video series, determining creative scope, storytelling approach, and talent selection.
People Management
o Manage and mentor junior staff and contract workers to develop editorial skill set
o Manage relationships with freelance writers and experts; manage freelance budget
Qualifications & Experience
• 5 + years proven experience as an Editor or similar role
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Proficiency in content management systems
• Ability to create and curate engaging content (copy and image)
• Knowledge of site analytics and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Creative, strategic mindset with attention to detail
• Demonstrated interest in lifestyle verticals
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with SEO and analytics
• Ability to prioritize stories and juggle multiple deadlines
• Ability to stay on the pulse of lifestyle culture and emerging media platform

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $62,790.00 - $116,610.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
