Job Summary/Description:
Ready to join a growing sports team in a top-10 market? Atlanta News First is seeking a dynamic sports MMJ and storyteller who can shoot, edit, report, produce and occasionally anchor at the highest level.
You'll cover the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and more - plus play a key role in producing special coverage for our partners like the Atlanta Dream. This is not an entry-level position, but it's a chance to sharpen your craft in one of the nation's premier sports cities.
Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Deliver compelling, high-energy sports coverage as a shooter, editor, reporter, and occasional anchor
- Pitch and produce standout feature stories that get people talking
- Operate camera and TVU live shot equipment
- Build your digital footprint with web stories and an engaging social media presence
- Maintain sources and contacts to generate local story ideas and exclusive content
- Collaborate with the news team to integrate sports into overall coverage
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a television newsroomDegree in journalism or a related communication field
- Experience using ENPS and Edius
- Available to work all shifts
- Some travel may be required
- Able to perform under pressure and meet daily deadlines in a high-energy environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Must provide a link to examples of recent work including:
- At least one package that you shot, wrote, tracked, and edited
- At least three examples of live reporting in the field
- Studio reporting/ anchoring if available
