Job Description
As part of our Studio Operations team the role of Studio Operations Manager is dedicated to making our studio a collaborative, respectful, inclusive, and fun place to work.
In this role, you and the Operations team will be the face of the Vancouver office for all employees, visitors, and candidates. You will have a huge impact in creating and maintaining the Disney Animation Studio culture as we grow. You will be working on a wide variety of areas to ensure the smooth running of the studio facilities and be responsible for managing environment and events activities at the studio.
Job Duties
• Ensure the Animation Studio provides an optimum environment for creativity, collaboration, and productivity
• Support the facilities development of a new studio and growing organization as new teams join, including hiring and onboarding the operations team
• Support the Studio Leadership team in office build out and any office transitions
• Key point of contact for new studio buildout project management and construction
• Plan studio facilities and resources in line with a rapidly growing studio
• Identify, set up and manage studio operations vendors and suppliers
• Manage procurement of office, first aid, kitchen supplies, food and beverages
• Work with the creative departments to drive space planning and coordinate moves
• Supervise general upkeep of offices, meeting rooms, kitchens & common areas, identify and address repair requirements, spot cleaning, wear and tear, cleanliness as necessary
• Coordinate with Technology to assure a workspace is ready for new employees
• Oversee new hire coordination for operations, including desk set-up, security and orientation
• Partner with the studio leadership team to curate events such as studio all hands, offsite events, lunches, and training classes
• Manage and plan the Studio Operations annual budget
• Maintain department purchase card and allocate expenses to proper charge codes/budget areas
• Serve as liaison with property management company to address building maintenance and any facilities issues
• Serve as onsite liaison for all facility vendors and manage/maintain vendor relations and delivery
• Researching, monitoring and implementing best practices and guidelines with respect to employee safety and building protocols
• Oversee studio art supply inventory/requests
• Organize and implement a crisis management plan
• Manage and ensure security protocols that are required
• Manage and mentor the operations staff
Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in facilities management, entertainment/studio environment a plus. Experience of working in a rapidly growing organization a plus
• Experience of an office build-out a plus
• Proficiency in GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar) and Slack
• Motivated, creative and highly curious nature
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to be discreet and handle confidential information
• Ability to be professional and provide a welcoming experience to fellow employees
• Ability to prioritize multiple, at times conflicting, demands and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask
• A great communicator that can build strong working relationships with vendors, internal and external partners
• Hold a drivers license
Due to the nature of this role, the Studio Operations role is an in-studio position.
