Job Summary/Description:
We're looking for someone with a degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science. The right person has expertise in delivering weather on all platforms, at all hours. Must have strong social media skills and understand the need to be ALL IN during severe weather coverage.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating accurate weathercasts for on-air and digital platforms, using TWC's Max software.
- Cultivating, writing, and editing content pertaining to weather or news as needed for all platforms, including web, social media, streaming, and broadcast.
- Ability to operate a camera and report as needed, especially when pertaining to weather or environment-based stories.
- Represent the station at community events, school visits, and weather safety outreach programs
- Reporting live from weather event sites.
- Fill in as needed on other weather shifts, including weekends, or anytime severe weather is imminent.
- Ability to stay calm, clear, and organized during breaking weather situations, and take direction from the chief meteorologist and news managers.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A BA/BS or Master's Degree in Meteorology, or other similar degree, with emphasis on broadcast.
- Strong experience in news media.
- Strong professional social media skills.
- Strong technical and writing skills
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
