Job Summary/Description:
WAFB-TV is seeking a morning news reporter.
WAFB-TV, home of some of the highest rated newscasts in the entire country, has an opening for a Morning News Reporter for our EMMY award winning morning newscast. In this position, you'll report live on location several times per morning on breaking news, upcoming events and other topics. The top candidate will be a dynamic, high-level storyteller who gathers news for broadcast, web and other platforms of the future.
Duties/Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Gather, write, and deliver news stories
- Appear on-air and coordinate live shots
- Develop sources within the community
- Pitch leadable and/or original story ideas daily
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Excellent editorial judgment
- College degree
- Prior experience preferred
