We are excited to announce that we currently have a position open for a Vault Manager, in our Vault Services Departments of Vault and Vida (MAM) located in Burbank, California.
Candidates must be highly motivated, with superior work ethic and ability to adhere to strict delivery deadlines, with minimal direct supervision.
Position Overview:
The VAULT MANAGER position is responsible for managing our 2 vault locations, our digital assets stored in our MAM and the staff needed to support the Vault Department. Other responsibilities include managing/supporting the day-to-day work within the facility, coordinating and scheduling work, issue resolution and interacting with other departments to ensure assets are being received, staged, moved, vaulted and delivered correctly and on-time.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the timely completion of all day-to-day MediaOrders and requests are being performed within your department
- Manage large vault projects – Shipping/Receiving
- Seek ways to improve throughput efficiencies while minimizing errors
- Prioritize and re-schedule work as needed to meet deadlines
- Assist Data Entry and Digital Librarian staff with technical, scheduling or MediaOrder related issues
- Assist with creating Equipment Maintenance, Building Maintenance and IT tickets as needed
- Work directly with other Operations departments to ensure that information, Xytech MediaOrders and assets are getting expedited throughout the facility within the due date constraints of the Xytech MediaOrder
- Make sure assets are staged and ready for operators prior to work starting
- Resolve Xytech MediaOrder and DASH issues in a timely manner
- Work closely with other department Leads, Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers to understand and follow through with daily priorities
- Resolve due date related issues or make phone calls to the appropriate personnel when deadlines are in jeopardy of being missed
- Maintain an awareness of Visual Data’s culture and ensure that we are working towards the company’s core values and mission statement
- Represent and uphold all Operational processes, policies and procedures and maintain an exceptional level of service for our customers
- Manage and approve Operator timecards and vacation requests
- Responsible for assisting in employee development and reviews
- Field all Operational correspondence and respond promptly
- Compile and distribute weekly executive summary
- Undertake additional department duties as required
Desired Experience
- 3+ years Managing Physical or Digital Assets
- 2+ years of post-production or media distribution experience
- Previous staff management experience required
- Previous MAM ingest/management experience preferred
- Cataloging, curating, taxonomy, or metadata ingest experience is preferred
- Experience working with FedEx, UPS, Freight, Shipping companies a plus
- Working knowledge of HD/SD Video assets, Film and File Based Formats
- Understanding of general technical attributes: Aspect Ratios, Frame Rates, Standards, Audio Channels, etc
- Familiarity with entire Digital Distribution process including Encoding, Transcoding, QC, Delivery
- Experience with HDD and LTO, a plus
- Experience with data wrangling, a plus
