Job Description
VICE x Team

The R&C team is responsible for collecting, cataloging, and maintaining rights across all lines of business to ensure VICE content meets global production and distribution standards. The R&C team does a wide variety of work including but not limited to: advising on standards during pre-production, watching down content for legal concerns, and creating systems to easily query rights across our entire library. We thrive on self sufficiency and personal ownership over the work. The team atmosphere is tightly knit and collaborative. We hope you are as well.

Role x You

You are a detail oriented person with the ability to synthesize large volumes of communication and data.

In the short term you'll be watching down content and learning how rights at the video level affect many different aspects of our content production. You'll gather deliverables and learn to operate our video library and rights management systems.

But after 6 months in this role we see you as an autonomous member of the team. Managing content from pre-production all the way through to distribution.

And after a year you'll grow to address gaps and workflow issues through reporting from our systems, working with other teams within the company to help define better practices.

Responsibilities
• Attending early stage production meetings to advise on any R&C concerns, so production teams are prepared prior to shooting.
• Receive review requests through production management software (Wolftech). Usually multiple videos per week, with different deadlines and production teams to work with.
• Review content across all lines of business. This consists of verifying production deliverables against video links, requiring understanding of all forms of those deliverables, and when they are required. The bulk of this work is done in late post-production phases of content.
• Coordinating with legal counsel when there are missing deliverables, or other risk concerns related to the content you are reviewing.
• Verifying that all production deliverables have been uploaded to our library, and completing library entries by confirming the overall rights of a piece based upon the deliverables gathered.

Qualifications

You have these:
• A college degree
• Minimum 1 year experience in a professional corporate environment
• Strong creative problem solving skills
• Ability to self-prioritize workload

We'd love if you also had these:
• Coming from a media background or content production would be beneficial
