Supervising Producer - Face The Nation

DESCRIPTION:

Face the Nation is seeking a supervising producer overseeing the weekly broadcast and digital projects out of Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have exceptional television production skills and an eye for innovation. You will help manage a team of producers and editors as they cover pieces that vary from the weekly broadcast open to news of the week to in-depth reporters notebooks. In this position you will work with correspondents and show producers to edit scripts and develop story pitches while also serving as the main point of contact for coordinating video roll ins and production elements for the broadcast. You will also oversee logistics for remote field interviews with the moderator as needed.

Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers who can shape content to work for both television and digital. An emphasis will be placed on generating ideas for broadcast - both in terms of pitching guest segments and following through on the production elements needed to put together the segment. The position requires a broad and current knowledge of political, national and world events as well as strong writing and editing skills. The ideal candidate is a leader that inspires teams and helps develop producers working under strict deadlines. The ability to communicate with other managers and producers across the news division is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 8-10 years of experience working in news and/or production experience

Ability to recognize stories with a high potential of producing compelling television and digital content and news making guest bookings.

High level of competency in writing and producing

Ability to work with a team of producers and editors under deadline

Exceptional understanding of broadcast and video production

Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require

Work week will be Wednesday-Sunday
