Overview and Responsibilities

The New Business Sales Service Executive will support the ViacomCBS convergent new business team as we work across multiple divisions and holding companies to hunt for, develop, and pitch new partnership opportunities, aligning with our highly disciplined approach, process and output. Specifically, the SSE will support a NY-based convergent ad sales team, inclusive of VPs, Director and AEs, in selling paid advertising time across multiple platforms, crafting customized pitches, performing detailed research and analysis to aid the team in better identifying prospective clients, and helping manage a department rotational coordinator and/or seasonal intern(s). The SSE will work across all New York holding company groups in addition to generating and supporting client-direct, non-agency business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist VPs, Director and AEs in the leadership of internal teams toward development of large-scale, cross-departmental partnership programs inclusive of linear and digital platforms, COEs, Consumer and Franchise Marketing, Events, Recreation, VNCP, Velocity Marketing, among others
• Work with multiple departments simultaneously, communicate clearly and consistently, and tactfully handle issues and objections that may arise
• Build compelling, customized presentations that support the pitch and sale efforts of the team
• Compile research and analysis pursuant to pitch development
• Prepare team members with pre-call strategy and research (pull spending, articles, annual reports and manage department rotational coordinator and/or intern on development of prep documents)
• Lead all aspects of New Business prospect list development and offer insights on working accounts, new accounts, opportunities, and industry
• Own the sales process for select new advertising accounts as identified and allocated by VPs, managing the process from prospect to pitch to execution
• Build relationships and maintain ongoing communication with internal teams to ensure client goals are being met and to maintain a superior level of client service during the execution of closed business, as needed
• Collaborate with the new business SSEs in LA and Chicago on information sharing, account information, development of general sales tools, ideas and projects
• Coordinate day-to-day tasks of a department analyst or coordinator and seasonal intern, effectively delegating projects, prep sheets, etc.

Basic Qualifications
• 3 + years of experience in ad sales, preferably in business development

• Highly skilled in PowerPoint development (able to build slides and story line)
• Proficient in Excel and data manipulation
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• On-air and online media planning and media math acumen
• Interest in strategic, partnership-oriented sales and business development
