CBS News is seeking an executive producer to lead and manage several hour-long afternoon programming blocks on its 24/7 streaming news network! The executive producer will manage a team of producers and work closely with anchors and correspondents, directors, editors and production staff, to produce original journalism that drives the daily news agenda and provides value to our streaming audience.

The executive producer comes into every single day with an eagerness to find compelling ways to tell and evolve stories across several hours of live programming, playing an active role in the editorial process to ensure that our streaming network's live programming is comprehensive and represents the depth, breadth and diversity of our global news organization.

Top candidates will demonstrate the ability to produce eye-catching and insightful live journalism. They are editorially rigorous and collaborative and can shift quickly between producing planned segments and reacting to breaking news. They have a track record of thriving in a fast paced newsroom while keeping calm during high-stress situations. They are a service-minded leader who mentors their team to achieve results.

Key responsibilities:
• Lead an editorial team to produce live programming daily
• Serve as key editorial leader in the control room during assigned hours
• Collaborate with bureau chiefs, field producers and correspondents to ensure programs feature comprehensive planned coverage and are always updated with breaking news
• Participate in daily editorial and production meetings with an eye toward developing insightful, original coverage for each newscast
• Ensure programs use the latest relevant and most compelling video from across the global news organization, social media, as well as our agency and broadcast partners
• Develop programming that makes use of all studio set design and interactive (touch screen) elements to craft engaging television
• Improve storytelling by utilizing full-screen graphics and information-rich banners
• Embrace data and research to optimize programming
• Manage breaking news of all kinds
• Generate and review scripts and rundowns to ensure flow, accuracy and balance
• Coach, develop and train a team of producers
• Build and support a positive work culture
• Maintain the highest standards of CBS News

Key requirements:
• At least seven years of experience in broadcast journalism, with recent experience at a national or global broadcast or streaming news organization
• At least five years' experience managing a news production team
• Demonstrated experience leading news teams to achieve exceptional results
• Experience producing & boothing live newscasts in a national news environment
• Excellent organizational skills that allow you to balance several projects at same time and prioritize when needed
• Must be able to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and unpredictable hours based on news and coverage needs

This role is based in New York City and is eligible for Paramount Global's hybrid work model.
