The Role and What You'll Do:
Performs accounting functions through the duties and responsibilities below.
• Maintains accounting data in accordance with department policy and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
• Prepares journal entries to general ledger for assigned segments of business across various companies and object accounts.
• Performs bank reconciliations monthly for high volume and high dollar operating accounts.
• Records revenue for assigned segments of business related to contract based revenue.
• Reconciles receivables and deferred revenue accounts for assigned segments of business.
• Reconciles general ledger for assigned companies and balance sheet object accounts.
• Responsible for maintaining effective system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets and intangibles.
• Develops high level of expertise in the company's accounting software, JD Edwards and Hubble.
• Facilitates the auditing process by providing details, schedules, and information for assigned areas as requested by the auditors.
• Seeks continual growth and expertise in the accounting and finance function and embrace cross-training opportunities provided within the Accounting and Finance Department.
• Potential of assisting with event work.
• Other duties as assigned.
You Have These:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience. Advanced coursework in finance preferred.
• 2-3 years experience in finance and/or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of standard accounting practices and experience with accounting systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
• High degree of proficiency with data entry functions.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook and ability to learn other basic computer programs.
