Job Description
• In early production, assess available tech, documentation, and point of contacts to ensure the Cinematic Designers are well-equipped and prepared when joining the project:
• Anticipate and communicate technical needs (tools and programmer support) for cinematics and narrative events;
• Coordinate training, knowledge sharing, and Cinematic Design process documentation to bridge knowledge and process gaps;
• Understand the intentions regarding cinematic and realization events and communicate technical limitations to Cinematic Leadership;
• Organize and lead syncs with the Cinematic Design team to receive updates on project tasks;
• Support and guide Cinematic Designers through complex/high priority tasks when needed;
• Represent the team in production meetings to offer insights, suggestions for best practices, and ensure that the Cinematic Designers continues to have the tools and information needed to deliver;
• Communicate complex technical ideas in a meaningful and educational way to Cinematic Production;
• Consult with Project Manager and advise on project schedule, assignments, and workload on the team;
• Help recruit new team members;
• Ensure that new hires are onboarded and integrated into the team;
• Take part in performance assessments of team members;
• Conduct regular 1:1 with each team member;
• Perform any other related tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience working in the video games or films industry as a TD Level Designer, Technical Artist, or Quest Designer;
• Experience with game engines/editors;
• Experience in scripting is an asset;
• Team Lead experience is an asset;
• Basic understanding of narrative causality and logic;
• Quick to adapt to company proprietary software;
• A forward thinking, technically minded problem solver who is an expert at communicating complex ideas in digestible pieces;
• Excellent cross-functional and intercultural communication skills and abilities to work efficiently within a team;
• Ability to work with people from other fields of expertise;
• Well Organized;
• Aware of new technologies and processes related to the industry.
