Job Description
i3D.net is a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast, privately-owned global network. As gaming veterans, we know what it takes for a network to withstand heavy demand, and as of 2019, we are a member of the Ubisoft family. Now we're growing faster than ever, keeping some of the world's biggest games and WebRTC services online, and their users connected.

Job Description

There are no days the same as a System Infrastructure Engineer. However, from the moment you step in until you leave you always have a lot of things to do. Once you have arrived at the office, the first thing you do is grab a delicious cup of coffee. We start with a daily stand up to discuss all open tasks and divide them among the team.

You spend the morning managing our server park and solving the problems that occurred during the night. Multi-tasking is required because while you are working on these colleagues from other departments will repeatedly ask you for advice.

After lunch, you work on deliveries for existing and new customers. You interact with the Project Management department, NOC, and other departments. In the meantime, you set up remote-hands assignments around the world and ensure that the deadlines are met. Unfortunately, an incident throws a spanner in the works, and you have to start working on this in order to minimize the impact for our customers. You solve problems as quickly as possible, and you take measures to prevent them from occurring in the future. At the end of the day, you have time to arrange a visa application because in two weeks you will have to go to the US for a project!

Your Responsibilities
• Executing work assignments (at the office as well as in the Rotterdam data center and locations around the world).
• Being actively involved in the delivery of small and large games and enterprise projects.
• Server maintenance.
• Installing and deploying servers.
• Advising other departments regarding technical issues.
• Answering questions about game servers, dedicated servers, colocation and backup services via our support channels.

Qualifications

Your Skills
• Relevant work experience.
• A proven track record in IT engineering (preferably experience with data centers).
• Experience with (server) hardware.
• Basic knowledge in Linux and Windows server.
• Confidence to work under pressure.
• English and Dutch communication skills (spoken and written).
• Analytic skills.
• You are a team player.
• Willingness to travel (10% work on site globally, 90% office).
• A pro-active attitude: come up with improvements and suggestions in a constructive way.
