Job Description
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is an open‑world action‑adventure game set in a rich and captivating space‑opera universe. It is also the direct prequel to the beloved classic released in 2003! Powered by our proprietary Voyager engine, Beyond Good & Evil 2 aims to deliver a seamless and organic experience of exploration and space piracy at a full solar‑system scale-featuring exotic locations, vibrant characters, and mysteries to uncover solo or with friends. You will join a QA team of 10 people, organized by unit around the game's different gameplay features.
Each QA owns a key scope, and you will be assigned to a dedicated unit, supported by one senior team members to ensure a smooth onboarding.
The team is looking for someone who brings energy, takes initiative, and plays an active role within the group.
Your Responsibilities :
As a QA Analyst, you will lead feature testing and debugging efforts in collaboration with the World Building and Level Design teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of key gameplay features throughout development. Your responsibilities include:
Test & Quality
• Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive and structured test plans.
• Write clear, precise, and complete bug reports in Jira that meet project standards.
• Track bugs coming from internal QC partners through to resolution and verification.
• Test major feature implementations before they are merged into the project's main branch.
Tools & Documentation
• Anticipate debugging tool needs in collaboration with programmers.
• Create and maintain documentation in Confluence (processes, tools, design references, tutorials, etc.).
• Support and promote the use of automated tests whenever relevant.
Collaboration & Communication
• Working with project managers and teams leads to define level of quality and reflect them in the test plan database.
• Participate in design discussions by providing a critical, quality‑focused perspective.
• Provide continuous updates on scope status, risks, and blockers.
• Contribute actively to closing and delivery phases, including reporting critical issues.
Ownership & Impact
• Play the game regularly and offer constructive feedback to design teams.
• Drive the debugging process within your scope by identifying and prioritizing key areas.
• Establish yourself as the QA reference for your unit through rigor and deep understanding of the feature set.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Must‑Have
• Confirmed experience as a Video Game QA Analyst or Software QA Tester.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools: Jira, Xray, Confluence.
• Strong understanding of the video game development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive attitude.
Nice‑to‑Have
• Knowledge of test automation or basic scripting/programming logic.
• Technical curiosity and the ability to quickly learn tools related to automated testing.
