Job Description
C++ Programmer (Ubisoft Connect)

Ubisoft Saguenay is a multidisciplinary team that has been shaping the video game industry since 2018. At the studio, you will discover an innovative, dynamic and creatively rich world. A unique environment that offers constant career advancement, a welcoming learning environment, competitive compensation packages, and most importantly, equal opportunity.

Joining Ubisoft Saguenay means playing a key role in the development of world-class games in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios. We are looking for passionate creators who want to create exceptional games and provide memorable experiences for our players.

Job Description

Joining us is an invitation to own the implementation of our highly optimized web-rendering solutions on multiple platforms through our proprietary game engines such as Anvil, Voyager and Snowdrop. You will empower new generations of web-based game features that become fundamental parts of our AAA player experiences.

As part of a dynamic Agile team, you'll collaborate closely with talented engine and web-programmers, game production teams, artists, UI/UX/Game designers, and Quality Assurance specialists. You'll perform research and suggest innovative approaches for technological challenges we face, improvements to our web-renderer's performances, and other topics such as automation, ci/cd, engine integration and all else you see fit.

Collaborating with colleagues across several studios and time zones, we'll trust you to support and coach each other, learn from less-than-ideal outcomes, and celebrate our many successes together.

As a team, we look to challenge the status quo, solve complex problems, grow (both personally and professionally), and have fun doing it. These values are encoded in Ubisoft Connect's DNA, and we strongly believe this plays a fundamental role in giving the best possible experience for our players.

Qualifications

What you bring to the team
• At least 5 years of experience as a programmer;
• A passion for all things C++;
• A knack for code optimization and debugging at both the low and OS levels;
• A good eye for details and acute analytical skills (you could have been a detective in another life);
• A proactive mindset with a thirst to learn more;
• Comfortable with working in a hybrid office/home environment within a multicultural team;
• Autonomy, curiosity, and resourcefulness that motivate you to talk to others;
• A positive outlook with a focus on healthy interpersonal relationships;
• Flexible in the organization of your work, allowing you to adapt to changes.

Nice to have:
• Work experience with gaming consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, etc.);
• A familiarity with game engines, browsers, renderers, and game development.
*Skills and knowledge come in many forms and can be based on relevant experience, so we strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet all the requirements listed above.
