Job Description

The daily life of a Production Manager at Ubisoft Toronto:
• Partner with the lead team to understand the overall game vision & requirements.
• Break down a game vision into a roadmap of achievable scope, and concentrate the day-to-day efforts of a group of production team members to reach them.
• Define and plan the milestone objectives of your specific deliverables (e.g. level art, audio, UI, VFX, mission, economy, gameplay rules, etc.), creating the production schedule and developing strategies.
• Update JIRA and other production tools to showcase progression, share visibility across the teams
• Regularly meet with your team to allocate tasks, discuss progress and setbacks, communicate milestones, prioritize deliverables, present updates, address concerns, gather feedback, raise risks and propose solutions etc.
• Define, plan, prioritize, communicate, and track project deliverables.
• Track, monitor, and analyze the production schedule; rescoping & adjusting your strategies when need be.
• Provide your team/direct reports with all they need to work efficiently and achieve quality (documentation, tools, pipelines, reviews, communication channels, etc.).
• Organize the approvals and debugging of deliverables + keep team leads up to date on progress and issues.
• Sync up with other production managers to ensure consistency, remove blockers, and mitigate risks.
• Maintain or initiate improvement for existed production processes
• Maintain or keep team motivated, identify risks and propose solutions
• Prepare and evaluate post-mortems to continuously improve our production processes.
• Participate in recruitment to build your team + foster their professional growth and career progression.
• Carry out regular 1 on 1 and the annual evaluations of your team members.

Qualifications

What it takes to make it:
• An undergraduate degree in Project Management, Business, Administration, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience or related experience (experience in the video game industry or as a scrum master an asset).
• Knowledge of the Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) + familiarity with project management software (e.g. Jira)* or other production tools
• Ability to balance shifting short-term priorities and long-term goals.
• A highly collaborative, attentive, empathetic, and solution-oriented spirit, team player
• Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and plenty of flexibility.
• A grasp of the team's capabilities, thorough understanding of interdependencies, knowledge of the actionable steps to get to our goals, and awareness of where to focus team's energy.

Nice to haves:
• Knowledge of agile principles, waterfall or other project management methodologies
• Experience working in a World-focused team.
