About the Role
As a lead game designer, you will enjoy collaborating with the rest of the development team, and you have the stamina to keep iterating different ideas, features, testing and pushing them to reach the final level of quality. Most of all, you understand that great games are based on smooth and engaging core gameplay. We will give you the opportunity to join creative teams working alongside skilled industry veterans developing your expertise even further. What you will do
• Supervise and be responsible for providing clear and structured project documents to ensure that gameplay intentions are understood and that team members are working on the right elements (game systems, game progression, monetization, etc.).
• With the Live Producer, to define the requests and needs.
• With the associate producer, determine the schedules and Assess the workload vs. production capacity, plan the work, and set priorities for the game design team.
• Manage any conflicts that arise within the team.
• Create a work environment that is motivating for team members and which fosters development and creation;
• Support career advancement and suggest development and interpersonal skills training and techniques sessions to team members.
• Carry out performance follow ups and assessments.
• Allocate duties and follow the evolution of the team's progress on game design deliverables.
• Actively participate in the decision-making process with management and oversee the necessary adjustments to ensure that the game design team meets expectations.
Qualifications
What you will bring
Must have:
• Proven experience in the field of game design (from gameplay system, to data balancing and structure, and monetization plan, etc.), on several shipped titles;
• Comfortable with both the conceptual and practical aspect of game design
• Comfortable with a development schedule that is playtest-driven and focused on fast iterations and polish
• Strong motivation, autonomy, proactivity and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English reading and writing
• Creative thinking, able to think out of the box, while being able to understand and respect a creative direction
• Excellent problem solving skills
Nice to have
• Excellent ability to organize and structure his/her own work and that of the team (follow ups, control, schedule);
• Attestation of collegial studies in game level design and production and a certificate in project management, or equivalent and carry out all other related tasks.
