Job Description
As a Junior Technical Artist, you will utilize your hybrid skills to bridge the worlds of the artist and programmer, acting as interpreter, innovator, and problem solver. You will be responsible for research, innovation, and technical guidance to assist the team in delivering the highest technical quality content without compromising on the artistic vision.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with production and external teams to improve and optimize workflows.
• Provide technical support, benchmark & tools for artists.
• Work alongside programmers to prototype and validate features.
• Prepare and update documentation precisely for content pipelines, tools, features, and workflows to various audiences.
• Act as gatekeeper of budgets, technical art constraints and data technical compliance for assets integration.
• Set, enforce graphical data setups, optimize memory, and game performance.
• Ensure clear and effective communication among artists and programmers.
Qualifications
• 6+ months of professional art, technical art, or programming experience.
• Experience in real-time digital art content creation and artistic workflows.
• Previous exposure to 2D/3D art software (3DS Max, Houdini, Substance Designer & Painter).
• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine)
• Understanding of scripting languages (Python/ C++/ C# or Max Script).
• An aptitude and drive for innovation, collaboration, decision making and creative problem solving.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good to have:
• Familiarity with bug/issue tracking softwares (JIRA) and file management systems (Perforce).
• Interest and previous exposure multiple areas of game development (modelling & texturing, VFX, lighting, rendering, and procedural generation).
