The Job
The Portfolio Manager oversees a team of 2-12 individuals and facilitates the interface between business needs and functional capabilities, enabling teams to deliver applications within appropriate resource constraints. Portfolio Managers oversee multiple products from the initial design and requirements gathering phase all the way through production and support. This role will serve as a Yield, Stewardship, Cross Platform Ad and Addressable solution client point of contact for Operations divisions including NEWS, SPORTS, ENT, YA, INT'L., Corporate/Sales Accounting, Forecasting, Pricing, Inventory and Linear Revenue Operations. This position mentors and fosters best practices for the Product Managers and Business Analysts on the team and establishes consistent processes for them to follow. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for communicating with Executive level stakeholders on projects to keep them informed on product progress and timelines.

The Daily
• Oversee multiple products and/or major development efforts assigned to the product management team. Monitor the product development cycle according to the best practices of the Agile methodology principles and help the Business Analysts adapt them for the individual teams.
• Manage relationships with product stakeholders and clients and act as the escalation point on projects when Business Analysts need assistance or guidance.
• Communicate with clients regularly to share project status and manage project prioritization process. Facilitate resolution of unclear or conflicting goals, assist in identifying and communicating viable alternatives, and assist in the implementation of decisions across projects.
• Steward the ACE creation for products and ensure that team efforts are effectively allocated per the project ACE throughout the process.
• Define the future product roadmap and identifying new business opportunities.
• Provide leadership in support of organizational direction and culture. Manage employee performance or discipline issues and work with Director to recommend compensation, recognition, transfer, promotion or other personnel decisions.
• Proactively plan for project or organizational contingencies and design, recommend, implement and manage changes under the guidance of senior management.

• Mentor, guide, develop, coach and support employee growth. Facilitate the sharing of knowledge across employees to strengthen individual capabilities and the organization's ability to respond to client needs.

• May perform hands-on PM role for small-scale initiatives not requiring a full project team by developing project plans, cost estimates, or other resource estimates; providing direction to project resources as necessary.
• May provide ad-hoc production support to applications by responding to user requests, determining an appropriate course of action using expert resources as necessary and implementing a solution.
• Using proficiency in both business and applications knowledge, provide advice or recommendations for custom or packaged software solutions that support business needs while maximizing long-term viability and scalability of enterprise applications.
• Facilitate prioritization or feasibility of Ad Sales Technologies projects and make recommendations to management.

The Essentials
• 5+ years product leadership/management experience, including budgeting and planning.
• 10+ years combined technical and functional business experience. Full software development life cycle experience in one or more IT disciplines.
• Experience in Ad Tech and/or Media industry; ideally in delivering technology to support Linear and Digital Ad Sales.
• Full software development life cycle experience in one or more IT disciplines.
• Specific experience with at least one third-party system and development/delivery of at multiple large-scale custom applications.
• Experience with structured project methodologies, preferably Agile and Kanban.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of operating systems, hardware/software, networks, databases, and related information technology.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, MIS, business, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated proactive customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and set or negotiate priorities
• Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions
