Job Description

Titmouse Vancouver is hiring Background Painters for a 2D adult animated comedy series.

Estimated Length of Project: September 2024 - January 2025

Compensation: $950-1150/week, commensurate with experience and skill level

Hours per week: 40

Reports to: Background Paint Supervisor

Format: Hybrid, but candidates must be eligible to come into the Titmouse office in Vancouver.
*If the work for this position is performed within the geographical jurisdiction of the collective bargaining agreement, it will be covered by that agreement.

REQUIREMENTS
• Working experience in Photoshop
• Portfolio samples of background paintings for a 2D animated series.
• Strong understanding of lighting and color theory.
• Preferred: Previous experience as a background painter for episodic animation.
• Candidates must be eligible to come into the Titmouse office in Vancouver.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Paint backgrounds received from the background design/layout team.
• Revise work based off feedback from the supervisor, director, and/or client
• Meet production deadlines and communicate quickly with production if falling behind
• Communicate and receive feedback in a professional and positive manner
• Maintain confidentiality over all matters and proprietary information
