THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst of Technical Accounting in our Corporate Accounting department to assist with certain day-to-day technical accounting functions for the organization, primarily lease accounting.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Support the process of accounting for leases
• Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements that impact lease accounting or other topics as needed
• Support providing training on new accounting literature, primarily for lease accounting and the lease accounting software (Costar) for divisional finance.
• Provide guidance to local accountants on complex technical accounting issues, primarily for lease accounting.
• Review contracts to identify leases that are in scope of ASC Topic 842 Leases.
• Identify significant terms in lease agreements and input lease data into lease accounting software (CoStar).
• Prepare lease accounting journal entries on a monthly basis.
• Prepare various internal and external reporting schedules, including account analysis, monthly reconciliations and quarterly schedules for lease disclosure in Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls primarily related to lease accounting.
• Prepare the quarterly and annual going concern assessments.
• Prepare the quarterly interest rate swap entry and disclosure for Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Provide other recurring and ad hoc analysis and technical research as required by management.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
• 3 to 5 years Accounting experience preferred
• CPA certification preferred
• Previous technical accounting and/or public accounting experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate Excel skills required
• Multi-task oriented.
• Strong organization skills.
• Team-player
• Self-motivated; shows initiative
• Oracle and CoStar experience a plus.
