Director, Publicity (CW Network)

The Job

The CW Network, LLC seeks a Director for the Publicity department.

The Daily
• Responsible for developing publicity strategy, ideas and all materials for primetime series publicity campaigns, including series launch and on-going publicity efforts.
• Pitches story ideas/news angles and coordinates interviews, talk show appearances, magazine photo shoots, etc. of stars and producers for local and national press (print and electronic) for all assigned shows.
• Writes press materials, including releases, show descriptions, biographies, episodic synopses, as well as overall publicity strategy, launch plans, and status reports, as well as media briefings and key talking points talking scripts for cast and executive producers.
• Coordinates and creates material needed for publicity, including gallery and episodic photography, and episodic clips.
• Participates (travel to) and helps plan all department events including the upfront, TCA, Comic-con, South By Southwest and other panels and parties.
• Participates in brainstorming sessions with the department to come up with new ideas, stunts and events for all series.
• Serves as a liaison between a program's cast/crew and the press and the public.

This position is required to work in person at one of our locations in the United States. The CW Network, LLC requires anyone working in our workplaces in the US to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The Essentials
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to write copy that will attract interest by the viewing public and gain wide distribution in the press.
• Must have strong relationships with media, entertainment and TV trade press
• Must be imaginative and strategic in thinking, developing and executing publicity ideas and events
• Must be knowledgeable and proficient with major social media platforms
• Must be able to coordinate people and events for publicizing programs and staging promotions
• Must be able to select video clips, stills and other materials for publicity that are interesting and fulfill the media's needs and requirements.
• Must be able to attend various activities before, during and after business hours.
• Must have broad knowledge of media personnel sufficient to ensure most effective exposure and publicity for The CW Network.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment and managing talent and producers publicity requests and needs.
• Must have worked as a Publicist, Manager, Director or Vice President of Publicity.
• Must have television or publicity background.(Minimum 5 years experience)
• Must have writing experience.
• BA degree in related field required.
