SVP, Direct to Consumer (DTC) and Streaming Business Development
Tennis Channel is looking for a seasoned professional to lead the growth and operation of its direct-to-consumer (DTC) subscription business in the United States and launch its Pickleball Fast and other channels. Reporting to the President and the EVP, COO & CFO – the SVP Direct-to-Consumer and Streaming Business Development will be responsible for designing and implementing short-term and long-term strategies and initiatives to accelerate growth of Tennis Channel's DTC business through increases in user engagement, subscriber growth, and revenue generation of Tennis Channel's DTC initiatives including Tennis Channel Plus and other platforms.
This highly visible and strategic role requires a passionate, hardworking, high-achieving leader with an entrepreneur mindset and growth attitude. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record and deep knowledge of the DTC subscription business and proven success launching streaming platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Create and implement strategies to deliver record revenue growth and profitability for Tennis Channel's DTC business and Pickelball FAST and SVOD channels and driving innovation through researching new revenue models, new DTC ecommerce revenue models, new customer acquisition techniques and understanding evolving customer expectations.
• Lead and develop the go-to-market plan for TC's streaming products and responsible for partner subscriber acquisition metrics.
• Identify growth initiatives to acquire, engage, and retain Tennis Channel Plus subscribers.
• Assess, recommend, and implement strategies to create additional DTC revenue generating opportunities.
• Bring strong device, product, and platform launch experience in the streaming space to negotiate, support and structure the deals that are optimal for Tennis Channel and its acquisition goals.
• Work with product and content teams to continually improve and evolve the DTC products and end-to-end customer experience.
• Work with internal marketing and digital media teams to build scalable media strategies and plans that drive our growth targets, increased usage and viewership within the platform and achievement of our KPI's.
• Build business cases, projections, and metrics for new initiatives and measure return on investment and effort spent.
• Develop measurable KPIs and report on them regularly.
• Constantly seek optimization and growth through qualitative and quantitative data analysis
• Supervise an effective data process that effectively leverages business intelligence and machine learning to predict and measure user behaviors and trends as well as campaign performance.
• Provide senior management with post-initiative ROI analysis paired with consumer insights to make recommendations to increase sales and drive a premium brand experience.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on progress against financial plan and strategic objectives.
• Serve as expert and thought leader, helping identify OTT and subscription trends, new products and technologies, evolving best practices, competitor activity and testing opportunities that will help drive business growth and evolution.
• Build a ''book of business'' and cultivate strong relationships with companies which are partnership targets across the industry.
• Evaluate and participate in crafting the tiered partner strategy, prioritization, and manage the deal pipeline.
• Identify and lead partnership structures; craft business plans and create proposals to present to senior leadership.
• In conjunction with legal counsel, finance, SVP and CMO, negotiate terms and conditions of partnership agreements and successfully secure partnerships.
• Participate and work closely with the programming and streaming product teams to help develop and prioritize content and feature improvements that will appeal to a broad set of audiences and use cases.
• Collaborate on performance marketing strategies and initiatives including paid media and home page / digital flow optimizations.
• Lead partner marketing, merchandizing, compliance, and escalations and collaborate on funnel metrics for optimal conversions across each partnership.
• Work alongside direct marketing, brand, pricing, promotion teams to assist and influence streaming gold standards.
• Collaborate with leaders in marketing, programming, product, IT, OEM / dealers, aftermarket, on business strategies and distribution opportunities.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of experience managing a subscription business, ideally a digital product, experience in OTT, SVOD or other digital media channels
• Proven P&L management experience, with a history of driving profitable and sustainable growth within a DTC environment
• Strong analytical skills, including expertise in developing key metrics to measure the performance of subscription businesses and proven experience developing programs to drive KPI improvements in a timely manner
• Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, are essential.
• Experience contributing to and maintaining multiple high-pace and time-sensitive projects, simultaneously.
• Track record of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines to successful resolution
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Previous experience in sports ideal but not necessary; passion for tennis strongly preferred.
• Strong negotiation and deal making skills a must
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
• Must possess a strong understanding of subscription-based business models and be able to identify synergistic opportunities in the market
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person
• Commitment to ''internal client'' and customer service principles
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects

• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Understanding of streaming product architecture
• Ability to utilize data and analytical tools to optimize content distribution strategies and improve subscriber acquisition metrics
