Senior Producer

Job Description

11Alive is looking for a creative and experienced Senior Producer to help lead our dayside newscasts.

This person will work collaboratively with Assistant News Director and Senior Executive Producer to help guide teams in covering important news stories of the day and create unique, shareable content that evokes emotion across all platforms (broadcast, digital, social).
Our ideal candidate has proven experience successfully identifying engaging content, teaching others how to do so, and developing a roadmap to meet the goals of our company.

Responsibilities:
• Perform duties as assigned, including making sure all stories chosen meet standards of the News Department. Must also contribute to daily story selection and bring ideas to the table.
• Must be creative and a forward-thinker and have excellent news judgment. Candidate should be able to write compelling copy that is clear and concise and come to work every day with a vision for newscast.
• Must be an excellent leader and champion for newscast.
• Ability to incorporate digital into program, including social conversation.
• Maintains a level of calm during intense pressure situations, without letting the integrity of the newscast suffer.
• Ability to multi-task and handle quickly evolving news situations.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
• Coach and mentor fellow producers.
• Ability to act as EP when needed.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• At least 3 years of line producing experience.
• Proven experience producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
• Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Knowledge of ENPS and Edius preferred.
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related.
• Experience working with Digital Team. Specifically, sharing and developing content.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time sensitive deadlines.
• Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
• Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
• Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
