Executive Producer

Job Description

WCNC in Charlotte is looking for an Executive Producer to grow and develop our young producers. This person should be experienced in TV management. The ideal candidate should love teaching and giving feedback daily. We have a great team who wants to keep getting better and want to find a leader passionate about doing just that. You will work closely with producers on creating unique shows and showcasing content in creative ways. You will work with production on new shots and ways to use the studio that creates a dynamic newscast.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with newscast producers on creating unique shows with strong showcasing
- Review and approve scripts and rundowns to ensure accuracy and quality
- Oversee multiple newscasts to ensure they meet our strategic goals to tell fit our brand of building trust
- Assist in scheduling assigned direct reports
- Work collaboratively with other managers and perform tasks as required by the News Director and Assistant News Director

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• At least 3-5 years of newsroom leadership experience preferred as a newsroom manager
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends on occasion as news warrants
• Experience successfully leading teams
• Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
• Knowledge of AP ENPS, Edius, and content management systems a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, communications, or related field a plus

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
