Job Description
WXIA in Atlanta is looking to add a Consumer Investigative Reporter to their award-winning team. The mission is to help expose problems and find solutions through powerful journalism. Now, they're searching for an exceptional journalist to help continue to produce eye-opening investigations.

As a member of this team, you'll be asked to try new things, get innovative, and be flexible. A passion for storytelling is a must, along with an eye for creative writing and collaboration. Another key requirement: curiosity and compassion. We are looking for a leader who helps drive decisions and charts the course of stories.

Responsibilities:
• Proven background in developing, researching, and vetting ideas that lead to accurate and creative stories with impact
• Write and produce broadcast versions, long-form, investigative, and character-driven stories.
• Understanding of editing and graphics applications such as Adobe Priemer and After Effects
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media and technology to enhance stories.
• Advance storytelling experienced required.
• Contact sources and develop news stories.
• Willingness to cover a wide variety of stories.
• Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions and suggest story ideas.
• Ensure stories are a featured on digital platforms

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• Strong, concise writing
• Clear understanding of the principles of journalism
• Advanced experience in Adobe Premiere and some experience in After Effects
• Knowledge in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Social media proficiency, including an active news gathering on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
• Demonstrated news judgment, writing, photography experience, and non-linear editing skills.
• Must be flexible with schedule, reliable and dependable

Travel: Occasionally: 10-25%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
