Job Description

WATN, TEGNA's ABC affiliate in Memphis, TN is seeking an innovative show host and multi-skilled journalist. The ideal candidate for this position can convey the grit and grind spirit of Memphis through their storytelling and hosting.

We are looking for someone who has a strong on-air presence and delivery skills. Writing, producing, shooting and editing compelling and timely local content for on-air, social, and digital platforms is also required.

You must have strong content judgment, strong writing and production skills, excellent presentation and reporting skills; knowledge of journalistic standards as related to on-air, digital, and social presence. Must be a team player, committed to this full-time position.
Off-camera, you are a newsroom leader with a sound editorial voice and a passion for making our product the best it can be. You will also be part of all significant station events and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib
• Strong social media skills, including an active presence on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and a keen eye toward what's trending locally and nationally.
• Develop original content through independent sources and social listening
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
• You will be expected to take a leadership role in the broadcasts, assisting with the show's execution and writing.
• Community and promotional appearances will also be a part of your job duties.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience required, preferably as an anchor/reporter.
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
• Strong social media skills, including an active presence on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines.
• Knowledge of ENPS and Edius is preferred.
• Ability to shoot, write and edit content for all platforms is expected.
• Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
• Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
• Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
