FOX61 in Hartford, CT is looking for a dynamic, enterprising Anchor/Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our award-winning team.This is a hybrid position, so we are looking for someone with versatility who is equally passionate about news and sports.The ideal candidate will anchor sportscasts on the weekend and report three times a week in a news or sports role depending on the station's needs.We are looking for someone who is authentic, engaged, social media savvy and wants to be a leader not only in our newsroom, but also our community.

Responsibilities:
• Write, edit and present sports reports on all platforms on weekends and as needed
• Shoot, edit and present packages at least three times a week for various newscasts for all platforms
• Assist in writing, researching and coordinating sports programming and other content
• Deliver breaking news on all platforms in-house and in the field
• Write stories for our website and digital app
• Post on your station social media pages multiple times a day and have an active presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Participate in promotional events including public appearances
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience, preferably as an Anchor/Reporter
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Ability to shoot and edit
• Strong writing and editorial skills
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news events in a multi-platform environment
• Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook and a keen eye toward what's trending locally and nationally.
• Strong understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
• Knowledge of AP ENPS and EDIUS a plus

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
