Job Description

Responsibilities:
The WSCV Journalist will be responsible for, but not limited to, gathering information, shooting, writing and editing newsworthy events including breaking/spot news, general news, sports and feature stories relevant to the South Florida community. Will also be responsible for creating web and social media content that complements nbc6.com and a variety of other platforms. Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local news stories.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Must possess a minimum of three years television reporter experience.
• One year minimum experience in one or more platforms of Social Media.
• Spanish language required.
• Must submit a resume/CV online.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including overtime and on weekends.
• Must be willing to work at the station in Miramar location.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Qualifications
• BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or Political Science preferred.
• General Assignment reporting skills preferred.
• Ability to edit video preferred.
• Must have excellent writing skills as well as very strong speech skills.
• Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news.
• Strong live reporting skills. Able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines.
• Possess the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
