Streaming Director

Job Description

Tegna's Streaming Content Team is seeking a broadcast director to lead our studio production. This role is responsible for overseeing the production of several daily and weekly shows, punching the content using a Sony ELC Automation system, BitCentral video playback system, and a chyron prime graphics system. The director works closely with our producers and others in our streaming division to generate compelling and engaging graphic and video driven news and lifestyle shows. This position also requires light editing in post-production. We want a smart, creative director who embraces digital media and the more relaxed, conversational, less-presentational platform of streaming television. This role would be part of our growing streaming content team providing content to 40+ affiliate streaming channels.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Responsibilities:
• Punch live and live-to-tape newscasts and lifestyle shows using Sony production switcher
• Oversee the overall look of the shows
• Identify and correct potential problems before they hit air
• Work closely with the streaming team on visually creative story-telling
• Maintain studio operations and a fluid production schedule
• Complete post-production work in Edius

Job Requirements:

• Experience with a production switcher, ENPS, BitCentral, chyron graphics and Edius
• Ability to adapt on the fly and pivot quickly in breaking news and unexpected events
• Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on working as a team
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
• Bachelor's degree in TV production or related field
• Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
• Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
• Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
