Production Assistant (PT)

WKYC-TV, the TEGNA NBC affiliate in Cleveland, OH is looking for a part-time Production Assistant who can join the production team in executing live newscasts and other local programming. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn about the many facets of local television and can use our technology to create dynamic, energetic, and engaging content.

The person filling this role is responsible for studio preparation and operations along with other Production duties.

Responsibilities:
• Studio preparation ahead of shows.
• Run teleprompter and manage studio during productions.
• Move and place set pieces and desks.
• Maintain studio tidiness.
• Occasional field work on remote productions.

Job Requirements:
• Four (4) year college degree or equivalent related experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule is required. Production staffing covers early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Working knowledge of broadcast systems a plus. This includes lighting boards, teleprompter systems, newsroom content systems, studio cameras and/or other production equipment.
• Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and work well with others.
• Strong organizational, communications, and time-management skills.

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%.

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves sitting/standing prolonged hours, stooping, bending, climbing ladders, lifting/pushing up to 50 lbs.
