KGW is seeking a dynamic producer to help craft an exceptional daily newscast in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate is collaborative, creative, detail-oriented, and deeply engaged in the Portland community.

Responsibilities:
• Produce a daily newscast that is informative, engaging, and compelling.
• Use creative production techniques, graphics, and video to elevate storytelling.
• Collaborate with managers, anchors, and colleagues, incorporating feedback daily.
• Participate actively in editorial meetings and regularly pitch story ideas.
• Respond quickly and decisively during breaking news.
• Write with accuracy, clarity, and strong grammar.
• Ensure all content is factually accurate and presented fairly.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum two years of news producing experience.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Solid journalistic and ethical judgment.
• Knowledge of the local television landscape, including emerging trends in streaming, mobile, and social media.
• Experience stacking, writing, and managing the control room for live newscasts.
• Proficiency in using social media for both engagement and story discovery.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and remain composed under pressure
• Familiarity with systems such as ENPS, Edius, Chyron, TEGNA One, and Social News Desk is a plus.
